Hearn Field in the village of Combeinteignhead, is a beautiful outdoor space donated to the community. Please join us for our 2024 Combe Village Show!
Our show relies on donations to keep it going, we’re not charging an entrance fee, but instead are suggesting a voluntary £3 donation per person (over 3 yrs) on entrance. Well behaved dogs on leads are welcome.

Competitions
If you’re up for some friendly competition, we have all the classic categories, open to anyone and everyone, including children: Horticulture, Cookery, Handicrafts, Flowers and Photography.
Judged completely anonymously by local enthusiasts / professionals, in a fun, relaxed atmosphere. Read through the complete list of categories here: Show Categories 2024

Judges will select an overall winner from each category to be awarded “Best in Show”.
Entertainment
We have lots of fun and entertaining attractions to enjoy on the day!
Including:
Romany Caravans – Combe residents Derek and Carol will be joining us to show off their lovingly restored wagons.
Uncle Tacko – Children’s entertainer, lots of fun and frivolity, including a “try your strength machine!”
Free Kids Crafts – Becky will be running several craft classes for kids throughout the day, using recycled materials.
Live Music – Talented local musicians will be performing throughout the afternoon, plus our headline act The Dillyboys will be playing their energetic, foot-stomping folk from 5 – 7pm!
Face Painting – Sally-Anne will have her brushes and paint ready.
Classic Vehicles – we’ll have a range of classic vehicles on display.
Pow Wow Alpacas – wonderful, curious and gentle animals. Joined by their owner, who will be on hand to talk all things Alpacas.
Combe Tuggers – the resident tug of war team will be running a “Pull the Panda” stall throughout the day, raising funds for the village hall roof fund, as well as giving a demonstration at 2pm.

Refreshments
You’re welcome to bring along a picnic, there’s plenty of room on the field. But we’ll also be providing lots of food and drink options at this year’s Combe Village Show:
Beer Tent – No village show would be complete without a Beer Tent, and ours will be provided by Bays Brewery, whose beers have won a string of top national awards, including Champion Beer of Britain! Low alcohol beer will be available for the drivers.
Pizza – Flour and Flame will be on site, providing the tastiest wood-fired pizzas out of their converted vintage horse box. GF and VG options available.
BBQ – Beardon Dexters, a family-run farm, will be bringing their delicious homemade burgers to the field.
Cream Teas – Combe Village Hall will be serving cream teas from 1pm, all money raised will go towards their roof fund.
Cake Stall – Members of the community will be running a cake stall full of homemade cakes.
Woodshed Coffee Bar – lots of coffee and hot chocolate!
Ice Cream – from The Local Scoop! GF and VG options available.
Stalls
We’ll have a selection of stalls to browse – you could pick up your next good read, or a veg plant for the garden! All money raised will be donated to Hearn Field.

White Elephant
We’re putting a callout for donations of good quality books, bottles (unopened), vintage items and plants. All donations are gratefully accepted, and can be taken to the Woodshed Coffee Bar on Hearn Field. For opening times and contact info please click here.
(We ask that plants please be delivered as close to the show day as possible).
We’ll also be joined by Shores of South Devon, a voluntary association that focuses on the marine life of the rocky shores and beaches along the coast of south Devon. They’ll be sharing some interesting specimens and talking all about the life in the Estuary running at the bottom of the field!
Callout for volunteers!
We need all the help we can get to run this year’s Combe Village Show, and would warmly welcome anyone who is willing to give us a few hours of their time. Either on the day, or in the run up to the show. We’re a friendly bunch, and it could be a great opportunity to meet new people, or connect more with your community!
